Are you struggling with the impact of your past on everyday life?

Do you feel stuck and powerless to change how you feel and what you think?

Overwhelmed by the intensity of your feelings, such as anger, sense of dread / anxiety, loneliness and not important?

Lost with how to support a child who is struggling or in Crisis, and exhausted by the impact its having on you and others?

Asking for Support doesn’t mean you are broken, it means you have courage to look at different options. Options that could help you feel differently to how you are feeling right now.

Approach to counselling.

I understand from experience how challenging and exhausting life can feel at times.

  • Are you feeling on high alert all the time, worried or anxious?

  • Are you or a child struggling with your mental health, self harming? feeling suicidal?

  • Are you struggling to manage behaviours when you feel out of control?

  • Are you struggling to manage due to past childhood trauma?

Above are just a few things that can have an impact on everyday life, how you feel and those around you.

Asking for help can feal scary and like you are a failure, asking for help is actually a sign that you recognise you don’t like how your life is right now and if you are reading about counselling it shows you have courage to look at your options around how things could change.

The counselling I offer is as unique as you are.  Life isn’t one size fits all, we are all different, respond differently and I understand work / family life can be hectic and complicated.

I am Counsellor with past lived experience of trauma, of parenting with a disability and being a mum to 2 wonderful children with additional and different needs.  Which is why I am so passionate about supporting adults and children who have and are experiencing distress.

I have been a crisis support worker for 6 years and a Counsellor within primary schools and high schools since 2019.

I understand the struggles of managing everyday life whilst feeling overwhelmed and also the benefits of counselling and how it can help you grow through those struggles by:

  • Supporting you to find new meaning/perspectives,

  • Giving you a compassionate space to share your life, thoughts and feelings.

  • Helping you process past Trauma experiences & understand how your body responds to stress

  • Guiding you to find your own healthier ways of coping

  • Help you feel less alone with how you are feeling

  • Identifying different ways of managing everyday, work & family life.

I will be beside you on your counselling journey and be guided by you and the directions you want to take without judgement, only compassion. Using different strategies that are tailored to you. For example some people like to talk, some find creativity helps them to express themselves. You are in charge of how you want to use counselling sessions.

Taking care of you is the first step to wider positive change.
